Wings of Time and Fate by Isla Wynter
*I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Isla Wynter built a very intense world with a rich history and culture. The world is an amazing place to explore full of magic and corrupt kings. Eona lives with a traveling group performing magic tricks in secret so she does not get taken away. One day she is found out and must learn to survive as a prisoner. She forms bonds with the healer and a darling baby Peryton that lead to her escape and greater understanding of how magic works.
As much as I love the world she built and the adorable little Peryton I wasn’t that caught up in her plot. The story got lost in all of her magnificent describes of the world around the characters. The bonds and motives between people get washed out which makes it really hard to understand why people are doing the things they do and if it even matters.
With a little more focus on building up the plot to match the intensity of the world it would be an amazing book.
